After some ten years of cellaring, Clos de Vougeot wines in this style can develop into some of the most complete Côte de Nuits wines, and be fully on par with wines from more consistent Grand Cru vineyards. Stylish, sleek and well-made, this wine is medium-bodied, firm and tannic, but with plenty of complex black fruit. With raspberry, tar and smoke notes, the wine evolves with succulent acidity that is nicely integrated. Serve with roast duckling with Bing cherry sauce and roasted root vegetables.

Clos Vougeot is a famous walled vineyard in Burgundy created originally by the monks of Citeaux, who maintained ownership of the property until the French Revolution. Today there are over 80 properties. The wine is known for its glorious aromatics, flavors and of course, its heritage.
