This is somewhat of an unknown among sparking wines. The appellation Cremant de Bourgogne was created in 1973 to encompass all sparkling wines from Burgundy, in which any varietals grown in Burgundy are allowed. This sparkler is made from Chardonnay grown in the Macônnais region in the south of Burgundy, making it especially light with citrus notes and a touch of minerality. Try it in place of more expensive Champagnes with appetizers, cheeses and salads.
