Tastes fresh and jammy and slightly gassy, like a new Beaujolais, although it should calm down and settle by mid-2009. Then it will be a fine, fruity Zin, fruit-forward and dry in blackberries, cherries, raspberries, raisins, mocha and pepper.

Aromas of plum and white pepper lead to sweet-and-sour cherry, spice and toasty caramel flavors.

From one of the most consistent producers of Zin in all of Califonia, Sobon Estate comes through with another one. Sweet wild berries on the nose turn into ripe raspberries and cassis on the palate. The tannins are supple and the the wine finishes with some great spice and fruit.
