Aromas of berry, earth and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a light finish. A bit forward, but pleasant. Best after 2007.

Under-the-radar Bordeaux par excellence! Although this is not a lavishly-praised vintage, falling in the shadow of the overpriced 2005 wines, Lalande-Borie has crafted a seductively rich, open red. Dark plum in the glass with a beautiful nose of blackberry, cedar and black licorice. On the palate the richness of the fruit is layered and dense with ripe blackberry and black currant. Impressive wine and drinkable now.
