Jeffrey Spain: November 3, 2010
Cultivated on a terroir of red (iron-rich) cretaceous clay, loaded with dinosaur fossils, this Pinot Noir from the high valley of Esperaza was manually harvested, rigorously sorted and destemmed, and spent 12 months in French oak. Dark ruby in color, it has lovely aromas of roses and damp earth. This is a great wine for all lovers of sweet reds who would like to take the step (or leap, for some) into the world of dry wines. Light and soft, it is delightfully fruity and would make a great introduction to the grape variety and style.
