Obvio Vino Malbec

The 2007 Malbec is dark ruby-colored with a pleasant nose of violets, a hint of mineral, and cherry. Forward and easygoing on the palate, this tasty Malbec is an excellent value meant for drinking over the next 2–3 years.

Obviously, Obvio is Spanish for obvious. It is kind of obvious after all. Candied flavors of dark berries and jammy raspberries overflow from the glass, a result of the intense sun that shines upon the grapes. On my recent trip to Mendoza, Argentina, my sunburn was an obvious indication of the sun and its effect. Obviously, these ultra rich flavors may lead you to think that this wine could be too powerful, and out of balance. However, the cool nights lend the grapes an obviously discernible amount of acidity to keep the wine well structured. The lingering aftertaste is full of chocolate and cinnamon notes. Being a 2007 vintage, this wine will obviously develop and mature with some time. Not to say it isn’t obviously drinking well now. At the price, you obviously would be loco not to purchase a few bottles of this obviously great value wine (“loco” is Spanish for crazy, obviously). In case you were counting, I said obvious thirteen times in this review. But you obviously knew that. Fourteen times.
