Mike Ammermuller: August 30, 2008
Red berries and cherries waft from this wine initially. However, with a swirl of the glass, a bit of leather and tobacco force their way into your nose. The body is fairly light, but has many herbal and fruity layers packed into its long-finish. This wine is easy drinking but complex enough to keep you interested. Will go well with nearly any dish, be it light or heavy, that calls for a red wine.

A good candidate for the cellar; the notes of spice, herb, anise, graphite and pepper hint at how good this wine will be in a few years.

From the satellite commune of Montagne Saint-Émilion, this is a plush, textured example of right bank Bordeaux at an affordable price. Graphite, cedar, plums and pen ink are abundantly prevalent, harkening to the style of the increasingly expensive classified growths.
