89 pts. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate: August, 2007
The 2005 Pinot Noir Highliner exhibits a dark ruby color, floral, black cherry, strawberry, earth, herb, and background oak aromas, medium body, excellent depth, good acidity, and ripe tannin. It should drink nicely for 7–8 years.

This is what I call a special occasion wine. Big fat juicy, spicy, smoky nose. Sweet fruit on your tongue. Seamless, flawless body, excellent, with plenty of stuffing for such a delicate grape. The holidays are coming!

I gave this wine several hours to open up before drinking. It was well worth waiting for! The wine is deep ruby red with floral and spice aromas. I thoroughly enjoyed the layers of cranberry, pomegranate and black cherry fruit, along with notes of white pepper and nutmeg. The finish is long and luscious. I drank the wine at cellar temperature (55–60 degrees) and munched on some crackers with port wine cheese.
