89 pts. Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar: Jul/Aug 2006
Ruby-red. Rich, smoky and chocolaty, with lush aromas of kirsch, raspberry and dark chocolate. More dark fruit in character on the palate, especially boysenberry and cassis, but also fresh and understated, with subtle spice adding complexity. This is loaded with sweet fruit, but there’s also a restraint and elegance of texture that keeps it away from the ledge. Finishes with supple tannins and lingering flavors of sweet, dark berries.

Ripe and generous, with a mint and herb cast to the cherry and spice flavors, finishing with fine, chewy tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Mourvèdre and Malbec. Best from 2008 through 2011.
