Bright ruby-red. Currant, black cherry, graphite, licorice and fresh herbs on the nose. Then sweet, rich and suave in the mouth, with creamy flavors of red fruits, tobacco and herbs nicely shaped by harmonious acidity. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good but not outstanding length.

Opens with complex aromas of cassis and new smoky oak, and turns lush and smooth when it hits the palate, yet at times seems almost too ripe. Gorgeous now, and should improve through 2015.

Quintessential Napa Cab! Opening notes of cassis and jewelled, almost candied, black cherry meld into deeper flavors on the palate. Smoky, smooth and well-balanced; the tannins are in perfect harmony with the mouthfeel. Nice, even finish. Filet mignon would be just the thing to showcase this superb wine.
