What a lush, hedonistic, indulgent wine! A blend of Shiraz and Mataro (a.k.a mourvedre, a.k.a monastrell). A beautiful rich garnet hue in the glass, with a complex bouquet of cranberry, raspberry, black pepper and star anise. Deep, full body that feels intensely satisfying but never oppressive. I’d drink this with barbecued ribs or pork roast, but honestly, it’s a meal just on its own! Give in and treat yourself, it’s well worth the price.
