92 pts. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate: February, 2011
The 2008 Vespa Bianco impresses for its textural finesse, depth and richness. Light floral honey, juicy apricots, mint and cantaloupe meld together seamlessly in this lush yet mid-weight, beautifully precise Vespa Bianco. The wine turns pointed and more delicate on the sublime, understated finish. The 2008 is the first vintage to be aged exclusively in cask, a decision that has paid off quite handsomely. Vespa Bianco is 45% Chardonnay, 45% Sauvignon and 10% Picolit. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2018.

Medium-deep straw-gold. Fresher and more floral on the nose than the 2009, with hints of jasmine, peach, apricot and nuts. Then sweet and nicely concentrated, offering creamy flavors of butter and orange peel, plus a distinctly honeyed aspect. Finishes bright and long.

An aromatic spring blossom note accents the yellow apple, almond, caramel and white peach flavors of this focused white, which is refined and well-meshed, with a smoky, minerally undertow and a lingering juicy finish. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Picolit. Drink now through 2015.
