90+ pts. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate: February, 2009
The entry level b.b. de Exopto (Big Bang) is composed of 50% Garnacha, 40% Tempranillo, and 10% Graciano. The Garnacha was raised in concrete vats, the Tempranillo and Graciano in oak for nine months. Dark ruby colored, it offers up an exceptionally spicy nose (from the Graciano) along with floral notes, underbrush, cassis, cherry, and plum. Medium-to full-bodied on the palate, it has layers of flavor, excellent acidity, savory fruit, and enough structure to evolve for 2–3 years. It will be at its best from 2010 to 2017.

Deep red with a bright rim. Spicy cherry and black raspberry on the nose, with brisk mineral and floral overtones. Juicy and focused, offering sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors and snappy acidity. Impresses with precision rather than power, and finishes with juicy berry flavors and good persistence. This is the wine formerly known as Big Bang.

Robust and richly textured, with firm tannins, supple fruit and a savory array of spices. Deep black currant and blackberry notes, highlighted with cedar, anise and spicebox — perfect for pairing with rack of lamb or chorizo.
