A Kesseler 2009 Riesling Kabinett R represents the amalgamation of two previously discrete cuvees, namely a generic “Riesling R” and a generic Kabinett. At 10.5% alcohol and with balanced though obvious sweetness, it offers tart-edged, high energy refreshment and squeaky-clean expression of pineapple and fresh lime with pungent accents of ginger and candied lime peel. This should remain delightful for at least 6–8 years, although it is with ample justification meant for drinking young.
