The 2010 Malbec Clasico was native yeast-fermented and aged in new French and American oak inner-staves. It offers up an enticing nose of spice box, floral notes, and black cherry leading to a savory, tasty wine with good depth and concentration. This excellent value lacks only complexity but at this price, who’s complaining?

A mild malbec with a faint nose and a bright, inoffensive flavor, quite a good substitute for a cheap bottle of Cahors but likely a touch too acidic for fruit lovers. The key is to leave it open for a day or two — then the wine takes on a velvety yet still very direct quality.

Flowery and perfumed peppery black fruit nose. Ripe red fruit, toast, pencil shaving notes and sweet spice on a vibrant, juicy and full-bodied palate.
