The 1998 La Poja, the estate’s flagship wine, was produced from 100% Corvina Veronese and aged 27 months in new French oak demi-muids. An opaque blue/purple color is accompanied by dazzling aromas of blackberries, lead pencil shavings, acacia flowers, and pain grille. Superbly concentrated with great purity, and a palate staining intensity and richness… all without any heaviness… a real achievement. This is stunning stuff! Drink it over the next 10–15 years.

Always very serious. Lots of raisin, tobacco and toasted oak on the nose. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, long finish. This is loaded with fruit. Still very young. Give it time. All from Corvina. Best after 2006.
